A. INTRODUCTION. 1Kor 9:24-27
i) Why should we learn this?
> To help us conclude the year on high spiritually and physically.
> To help us lay out the foundation for the subsequent year’s goals.
ii) Truth about concluding the year successfully
> To succeed in the year 2015 will depend on the heights of achievements reached in the year 2014.
> Excellent conclusion of the year is a launching step for the subsequent year.
> The measure of a person achievement is determined at the end of the journey.
B. IMPORTANT THINGS TO HELP US CONCLUDE THE YEAR SUCCESSFULLY. Philippians 3:14.
> According to Apostle Paul, the life of faith for a believer is equivalent to a race tournament in which a competitor is aiming to finish on high position as the first at the end of the competition.
i) Focus on your game. Nehemiah 4:1-6.
> Don't compare yourself with others.
> Stay positive.
> Don't pay any attention to the critics.
ii) Consider the time left on the scoreboard. Ephessians 5:16-17.
> Don't waste your time.
> Pace yourself.
iii) Be a Team Player. Proverbs 27:17; 18:1.
> Know your strengths and weaknesses.
> We need each other.
iv) Listen to your Coach. Proverbs 3:5-6.
> Remember you are not the Coach, Your Coach is your God.
> Memorize His game plan through reading the Bible and prayers.
v) Practice amnesia often. Philippians 3:13.
> Don't live in the past.
> Forgive and forget.
vi) Don't be boastfull. Jeremiah 50:32.
> Don't think that you are better than others.
vii) Stay committed. Rev 3:11.
> Be determined, don't give up.
