PILOT VERSES:
Acts 13:36
"For David after he had served God’s will and purpose and counsel in
his own generation, fell asleep [in death] and was buried, and he did
see corruption and undergo putrefaction..." (AMP BIBLE).

INTRODUCTION:
* Will
> Means a desire, purpose or determination.
* Purpose
> Means the reason for which something exist or is done, made, used.
> Is an aim or goal.
* Taking David as a Role Model:
HOW DAVID SERVED THE PURPOSE AND WILL OF GOD!!
1. BY WORKING AS A SHEPHERD.
1Samwel 16:11.
> He submitted to his father’s authority.
> He protected the animals courageously. 1Sam 16:34-36.
* You can make your employment, business, marriage, college, school e.t.c as a part of service to God.
Colossians 3: 23
" Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people".(NLT).
Colossians 3: 17
" And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord
Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the
Father".(NLT).
How can we achieve?
(a) Regard your work as an act of worship or service to Lord.
(b) Bring honor to Christ in every aspect and activity of daily living.
(c) Live as a light.
Math 5:14
"Your are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden"
Math 5:16
"let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral
excellence, praiseworthy, noble and good deeds and recognize, honor,
praise and glorify your father who is in heaven".(AMP).
* You illuminate through:
(i) Moral excellence
> The quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong.
> It is a discipline of a person at a particular time.
(ii) Praiseworthy
> Deserving of praise, commendable.
(iii) Noble
having fine person qualities or high moral principles.
(iv) Good deeds.
> Once purified by the blood of Jesus, the great challenge and duty
for Christians is to keep ourselves unstained by the world.
2. BY FIGHTING GOLIATH
1Sam 17:4-11, 45-50.
> Goliath was:
* Great big giant (a person of extraordinary strength, power, body, intellectual etc.)
* Champion or hero
* Each day he looked bigger.
> In our daily life, Goliath- is the huge problem or difficult that seems to be impossible to defeat.
How can we defeat our Goliath?
(i). Courage
> This is the ability to do something that is difficult or dangerous, mental or moral strength.
Joshua 1:6
“ Be strong and courageous, for you will lead my people to possess all the land I swore to give their ancestors".(NLT).
1Sam 17:32
“Don’t worry about anything, David told Saul. I’ll go fight this Philistine!”
(ii). The Word of Your Testimony
> Your testimony is an experience and a conviction, confession of
what you know, believe, seen and of what God has done in the past and
can do it again.
1Sam 17:34-35
" But David persisted. “I
have been taking care of my father’s sheep,” he said. “When a lion or a
bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and
take the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by
the jaw and club it to death".
1Sam 17: 37
" The LORD who saved me from the claws of the lion and the bear will save me from this Philistine!”…….(NLT)
1Sam 12:24
" But be sure to fear the LORD and sincerely worship him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you".
Rev 12:11
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of
their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death".(NKJV).
* When you are faced with challenges, discouragements, confusion etc
remember the victories God has given over big and smaller challenges,
talk it.
* Tell every circumstance in your life that God is ABLE and you can’t be defeated by anything.
* Taking time for reflection allows us to focus our attention to God’s goodness and strengthens our faith.
* Your testimony is more powerful and will overcome anything tries to fashion against you.
“Arise and testify! Overcome and testify again” victory is yours.
God Bless You.
